Part 1

Need chrome removed.

Where do I go? What price should I expect?

I have heard of people blasting chrome off but I dunno about how even it would turn out... I'd start with a call to the rim doctor or possibly kuntz directly...

Scuff them up and paint them?
Chemically removing chrome will be expensive.

As per msn... it would be cheaper to buy a set and start from scratch. Those wheels are legendary!

Rim Doctor quoted $180 / wheel to paint. They would be more to remove chrome. Scuff and paint sounds like an option to me.

I like the chrome on them. I know it doesn't fit your theme but I would personally work with what you have.

It's not like you have a strict timeframe to work with here.

Find another set, and work with those. 7 slots are relatively cheap now, and you won't need a 'mint' set if you plan on filling/painting. I am sure you could get your money back easily on the Chrome ones, just because of their 'epic' status in the VW community (They were in PVW, twice!! :o ).

Please, Rob, Keep that set 'original' with the Chrome finish, and the 'TechArt' caps. Mess around with another set.
