Emmkaydudebrah's replacement... what would you have bought?

Like an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in chinchilla, LBM will bring you in and out of consciousness with alternating waves of outer space-like freshness and pharaonic opulence. You can think of the Paris based design firm like a renaissance man from the future, whose inspirations age timeless, yet capture and astound those in the present.

I've looked at the Escape before. When I was looking at dumping the BMW I looked at the Escape and the Patriot.

It is very odd having a car be a completely non-emotional purchase. I think that's why I had such a hard time, because the entire process had to be so quantitative.

I'd post a picture but I haven't taken one lol... and that's the entire point, it seems. Doesn't stop escape-city.com forums from existing though!

Very cool!

My brain won't accept it... But still very cool!

Haha... totally my reaction as well. The 2005+ ones put the shifter in a high console so the throws are at least as short as my mkIV's, but there is WAY less side to side play in the shifter, a surprisingly tight and satisfying mechanical engagement.

According to Trader there is exactly 1 for sale in Ontario at the moment... I get the impression it wasn't a very popular order at the dealership. They do seem to hold more cache in the used market though, I narrowly missed out on a grey one in Cambridge and the guy sold me he had 3 people call about it in the 12 hours after it was sold.

8)

I should specify that's with no hypermiling techniques whatsoever (Hayley drove 1/2 the tank for goodness' sake), and embarrassingly, whatever PSI the tires had in them from the dealer.

Surprising.
Which reminds me, I have to check my tire pressure.

Escapé Update:

I've been looking for a used hitch since I bought it. Seeing every other vehicle on the road seems to be one of these and the hitch mount points are identical from 2001-2012 I figured it'd be like fish in a barrel. Not so. Finally one popped up in Brantford with no picture or details, listed for $75. Seeing it was so close I chanced it and made arrangements to pick it up. They had the hitch on their 2010 escape for 6 months and towed exactly one thing. Came with drop tongue and 2" ball, not a scratch or spot of rust anywhere, all hardware included. It's a class II (rated nearly double what the vehicle is so I think I'm good) Draw Tite which seem to go for $175 us so I'm quite pleased... put it on tonight.

Also I had a 29mpg tank last week :)

It's messed how that positive feel of the shifter in your Escape probably contributes to a fab driving experience.

I am le curious if the clutch also feels that good (of course it's probably all Mazda components?)

With the hitch installed you must post pics post haste

Points to Tristan for calling it a truck lol... and if you need something less than a tonne towed about just lmk!

Clutch is definitely decent! The Escape is camera shy but I'll see what I can do.
