Project: DAT AAZ

Like an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in chinchilla, LBM will bring you in and out of consciousness with alternating waves of outer space-like freshness and pharaonic opulence. You can think of the Paris based design firm like a renaissance man from the future, whose inspirations age timeless, yet capture and astound those in the present.

Update? What!

Had some fun today down by the bay... started polishing the strut towers, I'm up to 1000 grit wet:

JK! Actually I made very good progress in removing that damn damn sealer with a wire cup brush

Image
Drilled hella spot welds and destroyed all needless bracketry (battery tray, washer fluid res, coolant res, hood prop, other things I can't remember right now)

Image
carnage

Oh yeah... got most of the rain tray out! Looks so much better already! Please note handy drill holster.

Great day. Thanks for coming out Rob!

So I went to the garage to wait for somebody from the poortex to come and patronize the gift shop and removed the rest of the rain tray by drilling the spot welds from the inside... that went well, no pictures.

Then I moved on to removing the seam sealer I couldn't reach with the rain tray in the way and.........

The rot free mkI is a lie. This shit is between where the tower meets the unibody too from what I can tell. Should be fun to fix

Odds are I'll be going with the raceland caddy kit mit airbag set up like that... except with raised towers instead of those fugly strut mount things. That is of course if I don't chop it up like minitruck and put in upper control arms or something

Will do... except I'll try my best to salvage my grip and reinstall it as it's in pretty good shape IIRC.

Not to worry, these were merely in the back of my pickup truck mainly as conversation pieces!

There's a bigger plan brewing that I'm hoping the "car gods" will align

You put those on the wrong car! Schmidt needs Schmidts......

[boniver]Come on skinny poke, what happened here?[/boniver]

They definitely clashed with the coop but it was interesting to see them on there... the tires sure are intriguing to see in person/context though- nice size.
Dave: Technically these are Revolutions (pre-Schmidt copies), so you wouldn't be interested ;)
