Build-a-car Thread

Postby mushroom_curry » Wed Dec 15, 2010 7:23 pm

Ran this by Rick, and basically if you see something in your head that you just need to share, then post 'er up. Whether it's logistically possible or not (ie, wheels with exposed lugs requiring redrilling, ewugh... or something to that effect)

Example:

Image
-2008 Acura RL in greyish silver
-18" OEM Alphards in stock finish (chrome inserts, laquered silver windows)
-Billet strips (?) removed from grille
-3.7L 300hp motor from 2010 RL swapped in, supercharged
-Dual straight pipe catbacks

This motor:
Image

In low a black Corrado on D90s.

...Though from what I know about that car from pictures it's a 3.6 not running FSI and it just has the Porsche intake manifold and covers. So it's not the 290hp setup from the new Cayenne and I guess it's not making 280hp either if it's not on FSI.

I will just go on pretending it's 300hp of N/A fun though.

Nah it's just a big VR6!
One bank of cylinders... that intake manifold and those covers make the engine look a lot bigger than it is.

^5 lug 16" JDM ITRs?

Thought of one on my way to work today.

Black B8 S4 on these 20" Cayenne wheels. Streetable (relative term) drop on nice coils, flush to mild offsets to make it all work. Chip and exhaust because why not. Bam- dream daily.

In reality I'd like to scoop one CPO in a couple years. Make it silver though.

Saw this 2004 Audi Allroad in an olive green with the textured/wide arches on the drive in to work.

That car with a 2.7 twin turbo DIESEL motor that's available overseas and some grey manyspoke wheels would be of the chizzain.

Dude keep the Allroad talk down! Hayley's favorite offering... Denied by me many a time due to fear of factory air ride and 2.7tts

LOL! Ok... but man does that car look good at that raised height!

The one I saw had a rack with one of those Thule storage containers on it. Totally phat.

2.7TT is scary but... 2.7TTDI? That would be mind blowing torque in an offroadable 4wd beast

I'm excited just thinking about it.

Edit: If I won the lottery I'd start a business where I'd import diesel motors and convert Ford Focuses, Mazda 3s, 6s, Audis... Heck, everything with performance and economy diesel offerings from overseas.
