Hmmm............................................. my thoughts in general are many of these European cars popping up (lots of them mkIs) withe full chrome treatment are, in fact, tacky. It's not to my taste.

As for your car I think you could pull of the trims... but I'm not sure I'm sold on it being 'right'. I think maybe the addition of chrome handles with black inserts could lend a bit of shine to the side of the car and complement a chrome surround grille (I always thought one of these complete with chrome badge would look stellar on your car), without it becoming too much. Funny how these minute details can end of changing the entire direction of the car.

x2 on the minimal chrome.
I don't have any deep insight about it, just rarely to my taste on mk2s.

Mike McCoy is just parting out his car , and I was on the fence about picking up the rather rare bits he's accumulated.

Thanks guys.

Ok so this is one of the first examples of a car (other than Mike's red 4door) that has textured door trim AND the chrome around the windows.

I think it would be okay, with different wheels.

Like some 928-Ps :)

Which could have been finangled, except things didn't work out with the 3 way wheel swap as planned - so that cash is now going to some dude in Paris.

One day soon when I have monies I will try them for fit.

Personally I don't like the window chrome there.
But it could work out in your favour on a darker car. Perhaps?

I will install them on Tuesday and see how it looks.

Just thought it was a styling "faux pas" to run texture with the chrome, so I didn't even bother to take the split seals/chrome out of the box they got shipped to me in.

Woo.

TOO MUCH (for my tastes, anyways). Mirror is way OTT but even removing that wouldn't solve it for me.

Having said that throw the trim on one side of your car and take a pic... it's impossible to say if it'll work or not without trying it on!

Forgot them in Toronto. Will have to wait another week till I'm back from Pittsburgh.

Don't think they look the best on that blue car (just the trims). Draws attention away from the overall silhouette/shape of the car somehow (which I like a lot).

The mirrors and the odd combination of door trim make it look worse for sure.
