Man... that looks SO much more amazing than the boot!!!!
Glad you came up with this idea. I love it.

Maybe you can get into the business of making hub boots? Kartell Boot Co.

I thought about it. Still thinking about it.
Once the second one is done I'll see. Probably a product that would sell for $30-40 when stitched nicely I would think.

I wouldn't go that far. Hah.

As for 3d printing, I've been thinking of a few things where that would be the direction I would go. A print shop that Victoria has a relationship with is getting one next month. I will take advantage of that at some point.

I have some spare motors should you require them. Although I think they are for a B3/B4 Passat, the motor has the same provisions (there's that word I always forget) to mount it into a MK2 just the same.

Randy do I have your permission to post red 964s in this thread?
I can keep it to the Porsche thread to stop cluttering of progress reports in here.

Post it up Raj. Gives me ideas and such.

I know that the 964 has headlight issues (early 90s VWs anyone?) but I just don't like the super clear headlight look. I like the flutes. H4s are available, those give plenty of light from what I hear.

Huh.
The 964 has an on board computer option. For retrofitting you simply buy the tach with the OBC screen, control stalk, lower clamshell and the temp sensor. The rest of the wiring is tucked away under the dash for quick install. A PelicanParts guy just sold his used setup for $650.

That will be something I consider since my tach has a row of LEDs drilled into it for a hard wired radar detector.

Either that, or I could be happy with my current functionality and just get new gauge faces. I really do like the grey face look.

This but non OBC:

AND/OR just a face to reposition the needle.

Really liking the idea of getting a whole set of grey faces.

Porschedials.com allows me to rotate the redline to the 12 o'clock position and have a km/h conversion for the speedo (currently in mph). All for $330.

This, but with a clocked tach:

For future use, http://www.blackcatcustom.com is about $150 for a set. A few guys on Rennlist used them and are happy with the results.

I'm quickly disliking the obvious red squares on the rest of the gauges. :x

The wiring being all there to set that digital display up is mind blowing.

What if you just had a grey tach? I like the clocked versions.

That's what I'm thinking. The km/h is still in little numbers, so it will still be okay.
I only had mph in the Benz, but breaking speed limits was definitely a conscious effort there.

Temp permit obtained. Hagardy insurance applied.

$671 lump sum per year with a 500/1500 deductible and insured for an agreed value of $40k.
Their website makes it easy to put the number exactly where you want it. Adjust all the options and put the deductible and value to where you are comfortable.

Tomorrow, date with a mechanic to get my safety and etest.
