I need to get vacation booked this week for this or my schedule will not allow!
The show is on sept 28th (sunday). How many extra days in addition to last year do we want to book and when do we want them placed. Once we establish dates (and maybe a rough head count) we can look at condos and we may as well book that too so we don't have to worry about it.

Who is driving? If we do at least 2/car we can alternate drivers if needed. IMO we can do the drive in one go... it wasn't too bad last year. (If anybody disagrees with that please pipe up though)

Can't wait to go again. Timely input would be appreciated on this one :)

I say leave Thursday morning with 2 driver's / auto and switch every pee break. ~ 5 hrs each driving is comfortable.

Thursday - Drive
Friday - Chill (Beach?)
Saturday - Chil (Beach?)
Sunday @ 3 am - Polish, Detail, Spit Shine, Slave
Monday - Drive

Broke Schtatus?

This schedule works for me. Been looking forward to this since leaving next year. I guess this will make it my 1 year aniversary into the JK.

Rick, got any scoop on good condo's down there? There are 100's to choose from on these internetz and it would be nice to have some input from locals/regulars.

P.S. MK1 resurection :?:

I've booked ample time off.. so whatever you guys decide.
I am putting the larger rear wheels on for the drive, keeping up won't be a problem.

np roberto I understand your situation!

1 yr tristan party!!!! dope.

I may start a thread in the h2o forum and on cleaned to see if we can get some real life condo input. Beyond that Hayley is sort of a travel agent so she's all over finding us a condo :P

As for mkI resurrection, anything is possible. Hopefully work will slow down a bit and I can have my evenings back to play... if not I'll probably just be a secondary driver and pitch in for fuels... no need to drive my daily down.

I support steve's itinerary as well.

DAVE!!?!?!?

Has haley found a condo?

I'm thinking we should do club parking again.. or are graham and tristan showing?
Steve drove gretta to club parking after the judges looked at his car.
I will be doing club parking anyhow, it's the only way for me to get a decent parking spot.

I am possibly thinking of going down the week before, just to relax and reflect on my pathetic life, in a not so pathetic setting.

I think the crew has the house rented for the entire week, so I was considering heading to the east coast, wet my toes in the Atlantic, and then heading South to OC. Probably leave on the Friday before the show to make it to the wedding for Saturday.

It's just an idea at this point, but is anyone else considering an early trip down?

I would like to come.

OC has some great surfing and Steve wants to strap my stick to the 'reg.

Problem is, I don't know how it will work out with school (missing ~3days) until roughly two weekends before.

If it comes to the point where 1 extra body is going to cause issues in terms of rooms and rides, it's not a big deal.

I have no issue sleeping on the floor of someone's abode to further reduce the cost of rooms.

Lemme know.

P.S.

http://magicseaweed.com/Ocean-City-MD-Surf-Report/395/

If anyone is interested in surfing, this is a great place to learn. Hurricane season will likely pick up the swell quite nicely. From experience, rentals (wetsuit and board) run roughly $35-$40/day. I'm no pro but I feel confident in my ability to teach someone how to catch a wave. Lessons will be unnecessary.

You would be quite welcome. We will have room on the floor for sure, possibly a bed.
