I should have sprung for a mkIV TDI vs this mk3 stinky diesel

Dunno I dig the MK3s more in a way but fear their floors. Couldn't find one with low or lowish mileage either.

So... I saw an Outback yesterday and I can see how it would look unreal on a set of these:

My MK3 was oiled yearly and maintained very well.. but it still doesn't stop rust. Behind the door handle, inside the door hinge area, along the A pillar.. and that's just what I know about. The next daily will have a galvanized body to negate the rust factor.
I would prefer a MK3 to a MK4 as well.. but the rust just sucks.

The mk4 suck outweights any mk3 rust suck.

:)

But yeah, the TDI milage makes up for all of that suck pretty fast. Oh and the heated seats in the morning :)

I've come to the conclusion that I CANNOT go without heated seats in a daily. Whether that means retrofitting elements or whatever.

Raj: I won't shit up your thread with pictured of Subarus, but I may post a couple of my favourite examples elsewhere at some point.

Tristan you're soo right about the heated seats.

They're kind of needed on really cold days when the diesel takes a while to warm up, but damn... a warm backside and great mileage all for pretty cheap?? I don't think I've ever felt so happy driving anything before.

Rick if you have a couple of examples handy just post them up somewheres! I can see it in my head but it would be cool to see what big tire size works best.

So my wipers stopped moving.

Figured it was the linkage since they still moved a touch on their own and moved a bit more with some assistance.

As I was pulling off the first wiper arm I slipped and hit my arm into the windshield causing it to crack (FUCK )

Want me to fix them for you?

I promise I won't break the windshield (if I do, I'll pay to replace it).

German Auto Parts sells the linkage for $30 ($110 at the dealership), and I can add it to my order as they require a $50 minimum order to ship to Canada. Takes about 30 mins to replace it.

Sweet!! I'll call them up next pay. I wonder if they have MK2 windshields without the tint across the top.

Right now I'm rolling around with a crack and NO WIPERS!!!

Daaaammmnn dude.
Upgrade your grey matter 'cause one day it may matter.

Don't be in such a hurry to condemn a person because they don't do what you do, or think as you think. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today...
