Same thing/colour, just sans OEM Euro 19s - which would be a treat.

With the prices they are going for, I don't blame you.

Oh and to have something that isn't plagued with shortcomings right out of the box is nice. A new Passat would have cost way more and would have had no HID/projector option and a very American build quality (down to those effing stupid swing arm hinges that intrude on trunk space/will eventually leave you a bent trunk panel because you forgot they were there and slammed your trunk)

No.

Probably shouldn't have even made a thread. Won't be getting modified.

Unless a euro switch to rock fogs and LED DRLs only counts.

Keeping it stock for real. The Passat was fine to "break" because the suspension was tired... Not this car!

It's not getting lowered. The speedbumps getting into work are too big to even lower the thing 2".

So the Tiguan Omanyt wheels in 19x9 et+33 are impossible to get over here in less than $2500 without tires.

I liked them because:
- VW centercap
- OEM design/fit
- Concave look
- Not a goofy looking wheel when shod with 245/35/19s and no suspension mods.

Now, VWoA is blowing out their 19x9 et33 Savannah's for $596 for a SET OF FOUR.

However, they are these crappy versions that look like some sort of aftermarket BS wheel that would be popular in say, Scarborough, Ontario.

Image

They look even worse on a car, despite the nice fit sans spacers:

The silver / machined finish versions, on the other hand, are a whole different feel imo. Machined face sort of ties in the chrome trim on the car better than a straight full-silver wheel too I think.

These however, cost 4 times as much in the USA.

I toyed with the idea of buying the ones for $596, factored in shipping, factoring in the shitty exchange rate, factored in repainting the grey windows silver, and figured it would run me $1500+. Still cheaper than $2500 for the Omanyt wheel, but a lot of leg work and messing with things I don't care for anymore these days.

I called a contact here at the local VW dealership and picked up all 4 in the silver finish for $1100. I am quite excited to throw on some summer 245/35/19s for some more traction and maybe some Eibach springs down the line for a 1" drop. The two together should make for a much more fun ride...without appearing to be a 18 yr old tuner head.

PS they remind me of this sort of BMW offering:

I was wondering where you were going with that awful looking wheel.
The full silver really changes the look. I was surprised.

They look like they would be a Millie Miglia 1000 offering. Yes it's odd what a slightly different color paint can do.

Also these are not to be confused with Tiguan R wheels which have a really narrow gap between the spokes and narrower spokes themselves... Doesn't really work with the lines of the CC for me.

I actually have no idea what these wheels were an option on... Or if they were an option at all. Just something in the DriverGear catalogue I guess.

How these wheels fit with a 245/35/19 Conti DWS and H&R Springs. A bit pokey, and to me personally this drop makes the vehicle look a wee bit broken (fronts look a bit low to me). I think stock ride height with this wide of a tire, and the poke they have going on, will be totally OK. Should look like a factory offering/unmodified car.

Keeping in mind this guy is standing low to take these pics...

Worst case if it looks like hell, a set of Eibach springs to drop it 1" (instead of the H&R's 1.5" or so).

Nice pick up. Will look good.

Picked up a "new" set of 245-35-19 Falkens for $250.
They still have the paint on them!

The guy selling them had them on some 19 inch "chrome pimp wheels" he was rocking on his Kia Sedona. After a day of driving on them, he couldn't figure out or stand why the van became so sluggish. Sold the rims but had the tires.

Deal was too good to pass up! So maybe I'll roll on my summers for a minute while I still look for some winter tires for the 17s on the car now.

Really stoked I got 245s so they don't have atrocious stretch while running stock height.

Wow that's awesome... Only thing that would make it better is if you drove a sedona with chrome wheels too

Do want AWE Tuning 2.0T Dual Exhaust w/ rear VR6 exhaust valence for Christmas w/ downpipe and APR tune:

Drool.

$2800.00 CAD for DP + downpipe back exhaust
$1675.00 CAD downpipe back only

Damn you US Dollar

PS: Not sure I like the rear trunk extension on these cars. Wish they sold a more S4-esque "high kick" trunklid as an option instead.

Just get a set of coils for it already.

Have you not chipped it yet or did I miss that?
