Took it for oil change and bought two coil packs (1 for every 2 cyl). Has relatively new plugs and wires but it really shakes when the revs get up there/high speeds, and also takes a unnervingly long time to fire up when being turned over.

Probably needs a new fuel filter, but replacing the pump is a cost I won't shell for.

With oil change today's bill comes to $360.

Going to slot in the new coil packs at lunch. Fingers crossed.

These V60 Polestars are damn nice! Wonder how they drive. Amazing interior. 61,000 sticker price though.

Weird how there's two ignitors/coils on the right that deal with the two on the left. Installed them, no difference.

Stupid car. I mean its throwing over 70 codes anyway so why bother lol

Went for a hard rip and it runs WAY better. Perhaps lots of built up soot?

When it hits -35, and the car sits in it for 12+ hours, something related to the turbo does not work until the car has warmed for a while. Car has ZERO power and can barely pull itself to 30 km/h... again until it has warmed up a bit.

The turbo makes a horrible groan when the throttle is prodded, until it has warmed up.

This sounds a little insane, but if the oil is viscous enough (due to cold), and the turbo line thin enough (remember, this vehicle and motor were never sold in Canada, it is an entirely euro vehicle sold in America for the year 2000 only) is it possible that the turbo isn't lubricated sufficiently and decides to not spin?

I understand a sticky turbo (which is what it sounds like from the groany noises) would also block exhausts. This is what it feels like.

F*ing weird. Car is staying parked in my heated parking space henceforth.

I can imagine that -35C does some spooky stuff. You may want to run some thinner oil in the winter, like the diesels do.

Put some seafoam in it to clean it out nice and good. I wonder if everything is just clogged with sludge.

Seafoam will thin the oil too which might help out. :)

Good idea on seafoam! I kinda wanna see poopy carbony stuff fly out of the exhaust anyway... been a while since I've seen a seafoam cloud!

New intermittent start issue. Everything fires up ready to go, except when you turn the key... Dead silence. 15 min later, fine again.

Will check the starter for juice next time it happens. Probably a bad relay as Rick pointed out. Or a possible million places where there could be a short. Likely the relay though.

I'm not up for buying relays from the dealer mind you, and there isn't one of these in a nearby (500km) wrecker.

On the plus side, car drives good! So much turbo oomf in sport mode.

Drove through a soft-touch carwash and forgot to turn off the radio.

Broke the power antenna clean at the base, and I'm now missing the driver-side third of my front lip (presumed to be somewhere in the car wash).

Didn't bother to go get it back. Nothing but hate for the Volvo right now.
