Looking good!

I am NOT ready to see that white shit yet, however.

It's freaking EVERYWHERE... :(

Scrappers is having a 50% off sale. There's a mint Sequoia Golf hood and Sequoia Golf grille.
Both would run $50. Wondering if I should?

Anyway check these:

$750 to your door!

Not that I would, but if I could justify... 15x7 and 15x8 staggered et+25?
In silver/polished? Ohhhhh buddy.

Also, 16" 4x100 337 wheels?

337s were 18s. I didn't even know they sold them in 16.

But should I bother getting the green hood and green grille?

Or would that be like putting a silk hat on a pig at this point.

Was going to paint the slats on the Golf grille black to make up for the headlamp housings?

I'll order a spray bomb when I'm in Toronto - $30 from Paint Circuit! :)

I have access to this great stuff that I can just peel+stick to the car to mask off the area real easy and just give'er a few good coats!

Being 50% off day at the wreckers, I got the grille and the hood for $47.
Not a freebie, but hey I'm happy with it :)

Found centercaps for the donuts.

Ok so it's about -10 or so when I drive to work in the morning, and holy crap is it a BLAST to drive this car!!!
With the cold air being sucked up the car is a total hoot to drive.

Also now with the Golf hood on I have yet to put the Diesel underhood padding back on, so the turbo sounds nice and loud through my ghetto cone filter.

SO MUCH FUN :)

Update on feelings towards car: Starting to love it. Might put non-smashed subframe in on a weekend if I can get access to a hoist for the weekend.

I enjoyed my TD when I had it. Word of advice: replace the crank gear when you get a chance. That's what destroyed my first one. They tend to wear after a while, suddenly let go and smash the valves :(

Crank gear was replaced by the PO before I bought it.

Well he said he replaced it when he did the TB, water pump, brakes, gaskets, tie rods, etc.

Time will tell if it's the truth!

Perhaps.

I will address the issue if it happens again.

For now it's only happened a couple of times when the boost suddenly surges a bit.

I hit an icy pile of snow in a parking lot shortly after that pic was taken.

A friend had to literally hit my car with his car to get me free.

I have never, EVER beaten on a car so hard in my life.
Somehow this thing still runs mint. Clutch isn't slipping anymore at all... wonder what that was about?
