Catch up on car stuff day

Postby gregosh » Mon Jun 15, 2015 3:57 pm

I realize that the timing may not be the best with Randy and Rick moving but I had envisioned a Saturday or Sunday to get together and wrench on our cars as we provide moral support to each other. We all know how annoying it can be working on all things German, with the skill set of the group it could prove to be time efficient and productive, hopefully!

Any interest?

Set a day. I'll schedule it in and it should be okay if it's not too close to move day.

I'll need to address a few fiddly things on the GTI that I've been pushing off. Would love an excuse to see the Polish muscle in action.

How dire are your issues, Greg?

How does July 18th work for you guys?

My needs are fairly basic, suspension swap will be top priority, I have a few rattles to take care of.

Randy, if I need a round steel round fiddly bit fabbed up, a large washer essentially, do you know anyone that can whip it up?

Haha Greg is not slamming his car. The suspension is starting to get sloppy, so I sourced some KW V2's for my little TDI :)

You might want to install those by yourself, we only know how to make cars worse when adding aftermarket parts

Rick and I only know how to partially install suspension. We'll have to move this party to a school parking lot and bring iced teas and lemonades to finish.

How does everyone feel about moving it to July 11th or 25th? I know the 25th is a lot closer to R&R's moving day but I figured it's worth a shot. I realized I had something already planned for the 18th, damn you Google calendar! :oops:

11th is more likely for me, 25th is our first day in the new house lol, I can only imagine the reception that would receive

But honestly, don't plan it around me... It's hard for me to find time to shower lately so I can't say anything with certainty...

It would really be easier for me if we got together some night after work if you want me to make up those little squares with the sides rounded off.

I'm babysitting my niece on the 11th and in Ottawa on the 25th, but if more can make those days leave me out. I'll just be wearing a tux and monocle and not doing work anyway. :p

Looks like weekends are pretty jammed up for everyone. Another suggestion I would have would be Monday July 13th, as DW suggested, something after work, a bit more casual, not that big of a time commitment...

let me know your thoughts!
