Sounds like something wore off, like a plastic stop tab or something. Time to take it apart. Fix it with a well-placed drywall screw.

Like into the hatch so it can't get past the window?

I was thinking something about the linkage. either re-index the wiper or check the linkage. there may be a loose bolt?

Perhaps I'm not explaining this well.

The wiper has no problems wiping... its motion is fluid and strong like normal. You can index it to any position 360* easily with your hand, and it will not keep that index once you turn it on. It doesn't use a linkage system like windshield wipers

I'll take it apart over the weekend and see if there's a possibility I'm missing but I guessing something is broken internally in the motor assembly... probably a tab like randy said... probably cast in that shit pot metal they love to use, and probably somewhere I can't access :P Although I mock I may end up doing a delete... would probably regret it come winter again, though.

I wonder if the linkage inside has overcentered.

p.s. it sure looks nice in Paris... just up the road it's snowing today.

I'm hoping something like that will come to light when I take things apart...

PS: Yeah it's downright tropical, you like my palm tree?
