Lower it

This is where we discuss how much fender gap the tourag has.

Too much

Moving on, your suspension likely works the same way as mercedes air ride.. DIY home depot lowering kit

Or pay $400 for a set of new links already built.
Here

Looks like you won't be able to get rid of all gap without going aftermarket though.

I personally find sleeping in the wheel gap after the bar very comfortable.

I bet he could mount the aforementioned tires directly on the rotors! Instant slammage and increased vacancy in the wheel well motel!

I love this thread Randy. Thanks for making it.

I'm sure the designs are very similar.

From the very little research I have done, the suspension controller has both pressure and potentiometer feedback. Fooling both systems by the same amount may be tricky (although I've fooled worse).

I'll read your posted thread and comment.

I would be happy with the 1" lower that I can get with the VAGCOM when driving. For parking however, I would like crazy camber and zero gap.

Keep in mind the compressor and tank (2 of them) are not intended for lots of up and down. I've already warmed up the compressor enough to set the over temperature fault.

You could always put an aftermarket compressor in place with a relay.
Do you know what pressures it runs at low and high?

Replacing the stock suspension and keeping the stock management could be done 8)

An aftermarket compressor is a great idea!

I'm sure the existing compressor is already relayed.

Like you said Randy, it's a question of high and low pressure points...

I'm probing the community for more information. Expect flames :)

Although it's worth a try, the air ride forums doesn't really have out of the box thinkers.

I have thought your situation through at length, and have a cheap solution if you don't mind getting your hands dirty.

I like getting dirty Randy... You know me :)

It appears as though shorter link bars connecting chassis to suspension will do it. I don't think pressure feedback will slow me down at all.

I'd also love a way to manually actuate the suspension like I can do on Gretta and you can do on the biodiesie Benz...

How about rigging it up to the memory buttons on the seat?

I can't beleive how stupid the responses have been on the 'tex. You would think that Touareg owners would be a tad bit more intelligent than your run of the mill highschool MkIV goofball.

Yikes.

Confirmed - If you install the tire inflation hose in loading mode, the vehicle will remain at this ride height even when moving.

Ride quality is terrible though :)
