I've been forced to spend over $1000 in the last 17 years to put a number on the front of my car. I've never spent this much to make anything look this bad.

Try explaining to a four year old why we have to have a license plate. She says "maybe I should have one on my bike." I told her that she would have to pay for it... She wasn't too excited any more.

Needed two new tires... picked up a pair of Nexen tires off a BMW for $80. Same size, but the sidewall to tread transition is very sharp, not like the Pilots which are more rounded. I guess the roundness of the Pilots is what was keeping me from rubbing, because I couldn't even turn the wheel with the new tires on the front. I thought this would be a good time to raise the car a bit (part of the 'deal' of putting the Golf on the road), but I couldn't turn the collar on the coil over. So, I thought the next best thing would be to put the Pilots on the front, Nexens on the rear. While the wheels were off, I trimmed the front and rear inner fenders, and rolled the fenders. Of course it's 1:30 this morning at this point.

It was fine on the way home, but Sarah went to go out with the girls this morning and had to turn around due to rubbage. So, I'll be back in today to try and raise the car. I've never had this much opposition to do something that I really don't want to do.

I guess I could try a different set of tires, but we're leaving Monday for NY.

Nipped and trimmed a bunch of metal and plastic... Might be ok.

Oddly, cars are not as symmetrical as you would think. Remember how we had to shave an extra 3mm off of the driver's rear spacer on the w115?

Yup! I contemplated machining the wheel... For that long.

P.S. I think I still have a smattering of burns from that aluminum chip eruption.

Rubs a bit on a tight turn + bump, but otherwise she's practically a 4x4.

Why my headlight washers weren't working.

Also, in the list of questions to ask of a potential b5.5 seller: "have you changed the HIDs?"

The maxima I temporarily had required both bumper and headlight housing removal to replace the HID's as well.

What a stupid design.

Upgrade your grey matter 'cause one day it may matter.

Don't be in such a hurry to condemn a person because they don't do what you do, or think as you think. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today...

Hey DW, they now sell adjustable upper control arms to fix camber issues. In case you still needed a solution!
