tal strip 1
clearcoat 0

I can't believe I'm doing this to 17s. I'm almost pretty sure they'll sell for thousands of dollars when I'm done.

If your process works good I'm thinking of trying on a set of teardrops I just picked up for $60 bucks. :)

This stuff is crazy. It looks like polished aluminum when it lifts the clear off. A part of me cringes when I'm scraping at my wheels with a putty knife.

Is this the $25 dollar a bottle method you were thinking of, or the cheaper but longer rim bath solution?

The body prep didn't touch the clear coat. It looks like one bottle of the special goop is going to be enough.

I have another wheel dilemma... do I have the spoke sides plus the inside of the rims coated, or just the spoke sides and leave the inner rims aluminum or do them black?

Do you mean like the inner barrels? I'd be compelled to do them tan.

yup, wasn't too bad a job. Hope I don't have to do it ever again though.
