How to blow up a motor. Step 1:

Call it "The grey thing" with a subtitle "the not so daily daily" for now... I will come up with a better name later, or someone make a suggestion.

200k on motor.
Stage 3 Kinetic Kit VRT.
Found out it has VF mounts all around yesterday. :D
Bunch of other goodies too. Willwood front brakes, H&R Ultralows, etc.

Plan is to swap all the goodies I want, put my VR back in it and sell it.

It's got a dual stage boost controller. Currently set for 7 or 15psi depending on how much wheel spin you want.

Apparently made ~350whp on the dyno last year.

Also, wheel spin is manageable with the LSD and decent tires. Except if the road is damp. Or if there is dust on the highway. Or if it's old pavement. Or if you're in the first three gears.

Lol... Yeah I drove the donor a couple of times and as soon as boost kicks in it's game over, and that was with slightly deflated winters.

Gonna be interesting with 40psi stretched tires.

Plan is to use my transmission with the wavetrac for the first bit.

Keep the ones in the car currently, with a peloquin as a backup.

Wow! To think you probably did that in the time it took me to rub my paint lol

As for putting back together, all you need to know is "righty tighty, lefty loosey"

Lol...

After adding up value of all the parts on the donor car, good news is I've decided to part it out so I saved myself all that work/time putting it back together :)

Future note to self: MAF's are directional, and when installed backwards cause the car to studder and spit out gas.

When you put the maf on backwards, it injects the fuel into the exhaust manifold

I thought it took CO and other crap from the air, made it into gasoline, and pumped it back into the gas tank :!:

That's how Methes makes their fuel, I don't know how Randy is so confused on the matter.

Sitrap:

Motor in, wiring done, car starts! but idles funny. Code for Camshaft sensor.
Replace camshaft sensor.

Car starts, idles fine but backfires like crazy when touching the gas. Code for Vehicle Speed Sensor.
Replace vehicle speed sensor.

Car starts, idles fine, backfires in both intake and out the exhaust. Code for ignition coils.
Replace spark plugs

Car doesn't start, just cranks, no gas.
Replace fuel pump.

Car starts but idles high and backfires in intake when reved. Code for crankshaft sensor.
Replace coolant temp sensor. Replace crankshaft sensor.

Car runs beautifully.

Who would have thought all that could have gone wrong pulling one working motor out of a car and putting in another.
