Das Jettakartell 2.0

Postby professor science » Tue Jul 08, 2008 6:26 pm

Hey Guys,

I know I've said this before, but I really want to get this going.

I would like some comments/suggestions on things you would like to see in the new website.

My vision right now:
Single log-in for gallery, forum, (blog?)
Blog posts creates forum topic (useful for projects?)
Gallery integration into site, such that pictures can be uploaded to the gallery and easily incorporated into a blog/news post.

Graphic design wise:
need input on colours: vibrant? subdued? vintage?

post up links to sites you like, etc.

Lemme know,
doc lock

I like the more subdued, Vintage look as per your choices. The Hamb's colour layout is really nice.

I really have no other suggestions except that Boobies should be allowed.

sumfin between retro and subd00d.
a smooth transition between gallery/forum would be nice. one login, same feel.. it wouldn't feel like you were leaving the kartell site every time you're uploading a picture.
Can a drag and drop feature be implemented into the gallery?

drag and drop, kinda like facebook?

not with coppermine (that I know of), something similar can be implemented into Gallery2 (which I like better anyway), unfortunately we need to migrate everything from coppermine. [i may leave the coppermine install up, so we don't lose any link to images elsewhere on the web (doesn't take much room/bandwidth anyway) but lockout all users if we do switch to something else.]

[edit] spoke too soon, found a nifty upload applet, but I still don't like coppermine, gotta figure out how I can do all this and find the appropriate solution.[/edit]

image integration would be such a nice thing. I'd rather a clean feel than a vintage feel... unless by vintage you mean miami vice- so hot right now. I'd seriously much rather have a white page with bright colour splashes than brown and grey and shit.
Dark grey with yellow is also so hot right now.

I think the blog aspect would only really be neat for projects... but yeah I can see where you're going. A nice blog page outlining progress, with a corresponding topic for each entry would be killer.

that's awesome!

man, I wish I could do that. I just had a thought for the logo... extend all the letter ts higher, then have something from the dot on the j go right and strike all the ts, ending at the ls?

DW, that idea would be pretty cool, but take a lot more work than I am really willing to spend on this thing.

i'm just playing around right now :)

I logged in this morning and freaked out lol

this template seems to be a bit less user friendly but it could just be I'm so used to the old one. Maybe your new colourway will make it a bit cleaner

stoked on the JK crest in my address bar :D

it is a bit differetn, but i like it better. it seems simpler.

all the same functionality is there, but I too was used to the old one. i think i saved about 4 posts before i realized the button positions were different.

you can change it back if you'd like. just pic subsilver as your template in the user options
