Unbelievable, how is this not yet a thing? I mean you can buy that octane booster crap but I've always understood it was snake oil.

For real. It is a money saver on a car that needs premium.
I am also big time skeptical about this sort of thing but the lab results don't lie. I'm just not sure about the off the shelf stuff though. After about 10 minutes of research, I don't see any numbers or charts. Just a promise that it's "raised". We at least have real proof.

Oh, I didn't mention. The guy that is supplying us with this stuff is the sole fuel provider for Porsche and Ferrari for their racing programs. He's had the contracts for something like 20 years. Obviously well to do, but looks like a panhandler. lol

I'll be buying a few jugs of the stuff. I think the price is about $30 per liter, which for my 964 will treat 750 liter of fuel up to 94 octane, or 830 liters to 92 octane.

If 91 octane is $.16 (is it?) higher than 87 octane, that's an extra $13.50 per tank. Treatment cost would be $3.60 for the 100ml. That's roughly $10 savings per tank at current prices. Not insignificant.
Back when I had the Corrado I think 91 octane was closer to $0.25-0.30 higher than 87 octane. Savings will only go up.

I want a fun daily... something with torque that I can throw around a bit.
If coilovers and some added boost don't help my current situation I'm going to be pissed.

What options are there out there for a vehicle that is:

1) good if not great on fuel
2) lots of performance feels (torque and/or hp)
3) low maintenance
4) aesthetic appeal (simple clean lines)
5) cheaply had in the used market
6) fairly perfect out of the box (would not evoke a desire to mod)

Almost seems like an imported low mileage WRX STI 22B would be the only thing?

Thoughts?

22B. Holy moly. How does that fit the "daily" category? It's a low production homologation special. Its like making a Lancia Stratos a daily.

Want to buy my A4?

I'm also looking for a more reasonable daily. As per your mindset, I'm currently looking at S4/S5's. haha.

Sorry mang I said 22b to refer to that body style/era... I may have used that incorrectly... just regular WRX imported from Japan.

Hmm...How much for the A4 Tristan?

Hayley wants an S5 so bad... I just don't know how brutal it would be to deal with a car seat in the back every day.

I was pretty set on a B8 S4 but something about them doesn't quite click for me... I have a feeling it's probably what I'll end up with in the end anyways though. Wildcard right now is the C7 A6 3.0T... if I can live with the auto I much prefer it, it just feels more special of a car to me. With a tune I think it'd keep my attention.

I paid $4200 (no safety/no etest) so I wouldn't be looking for any more than that. I'm in no rush to sell but if your seriously interested we could talk. I'm assuming the deal breaker will be shipping the car out there.

It's not perfect, but the issues it has are easily fixable. Ie: Paint chipped on fenders (I already have the touch up paint), Power steering pump has been "going" since before I bought the car and it will need the ebrake repaired for a safety. Most likely the e-brake cables which are pricey. Other than that though, it's a great car and I believe I've taken pretty good care of it.

A little Kijiji search shows that they start at about $10k as a driver's car. Not shabby.
I don't see how it would be any good as a winter car though. Or wait, they likely have a LSD. That would help a lot.

What's wrong with viewing it on your phone, playboi?

In other dash stroking news I sat in a new 6 yesterday at the Mazda stealership... impressed by that interior!

I nearly got a Scion FR-S instead of the 964.
While I still really like the Scion, I don't know how I would feel about being grouped with the other owners and modders. There are so few modded examples where the owner held back urges to bolt on every piece of tupperware they could find in their kitchen.
