I've always had a thing for the old LWB coupes, it's nice to see one in action.

Would probably look menacing rolling in person - especially with those tubes.

Is it just me or does anyone just think "holy f* props to that guy for shelling on maintenance bucks" when they see an S4 nowadays?

I wouldn't doubt it, I just like the way S4 bumpers look with all the grates in place.

This is Sean's 1983 UR-Quattro:

Seats, completely redone to original spec:

It is an extremely clean and well kept example. Unlike many who have swapped engines in this chassis, he kept his completely uncut and unmolested. He originally was running the original 10vt engine, rebuilt and upgraded with a Garrett 2871r turbo.

Over the past few months and with the help of a local fabrication/tuning company (Iroz Motorsport), he has transformed it to a bit of a monster.

They used the 07K engine, the newer VAG inline 5 cylinder engine, and made all customer mounts and such to fit it into the car (and most other audi longitude setups):

Motor Mounts(has built in oil relocation fittings):

High rev serp belt pulley (also used as delete for A/C):

Oil pan made to clear all longitude subframes (has trap doors and all sorts of goodies):

Intake plenum fabrication:

Engine on the engine stand, all custom fabricated manifolds, custom valve cover and Forced performance HTA 35r turbo:

Sean wanted to keep a "Classic" look, so the engine bay has some sport quattro styling:

Mock up of radiators:

and here it is in its running and driving form:

Group b style exhaust:

The last A6 chassis to have a reinforced unibody it would seem.

Add these to the list of cars I'd have a hard time saying no to if I found the right one. Scratches that drop top itch, seriously unique and undeniably smooth. One could add a third pedal in time.

Audi Appreciation 101

I'm right with you on that one. Saw a purple one on Keskin KT1s in my first trip to Europe. Made quite the impression on 20 year old me.

A turbo 20V 5cyl in there would be pretty sweet.

Oh man I swear I've seen that one in pics... Purple cars stick with me.

It definitely would be crazy with a 20v... But for some reason I'm thinking 4cyl 20v. You can still get good power out and they're more common/modern. Swaps are surpringly common for this chassis, there's mounts and whatnot available.
