I don't know man. I mean as a new supercar it's really quite good. But as a successor to a car that had a real hot rod feel to it, it's way off the mark. A complete shift in target demographic IMO.

It's gone from a custom muscle car style to a high tech supercar like all the others. I like what it was before.

I just think it's a beautiful piece of automotive sculpture. The interior looks very racy. The flying buttresses really accentuate the athletic form of the GT. It still has a bit of the GT40 in it (circular tail lights, headlight shape, etc), but, overall, it's a whole new thing.

I feel like if the GT were continuously in production this would be the next logical evolution of it. The last generation GT was obviously an homage to the original... With this one, it's like the attitude at Ford was, "We know we could do another GT40 tribute/rehash, but we're better than that. The GT should be an exhibition of our capabilities. A real halo car."

The Mustang kinda did the same thing. It had a retro look, and then it was modernized to the current generation while still having a few hints of the original. It is a thoroughly modern interpretation of the american muscle car.

With the Fiesta ST, Focus RS (coming soon), Mustang GT350 (w/ the 5.2L, 500 hp, flat-plane V8) and now this thing, they have a complete line up of performance cars. I'm digging where Ford is going (they just need to bring more wagons here... Focus ST Wagon, Mondeo/Fusion ST Wagon).

Yeah what rob said.

The 'old' GT is still my personal lottery car... There's just something about them.

Having said that, the new one is a homerun design wise. The rear is unbelievable, hats off to Ford.

The stationary lamps do something weird to the look of the hood/front end at certain angles, but I do like how it looks head on. The pop ups sport some reaaal nice projectors on em.

In white I'd rock the stationary lamps, in red or black or grey, pop ups forever.
