3" exhaust?

Postby Mandeep D » Sat May 30, 2009 9:05 pm

I have an exhaust leak that needs repair, and the flex joint needs replacing.

I can get a 3" exhaust from the turbo back for $200 tomorrow. It's a SS downpipe (no cat) and aluminized mains. It's got a V-band connecting where the DP usually does. I could put the V-band onto my Milltek high flow cat & be done.

Obviously this is overkill for my little K03 but it may be attractive to the next owner wishing to BT (I'm planning on moving up to my co-workers S4 next spring). I'm a little concerned it would sound too much like a tractor.

My question: wouldya?

I'd do it. I had a 3" exhaust on my DSM turbo back and it wasn't ricey sounding at all. Turbos are incredible 'mufflers' themselves you have to remember...
