Painted LM's - wha color??

Postby Mandeep D » Sat Dec 18, 2010 3:43 pm

Due to the unfortunate lock bolt situation, it looks like I'll be refinishing the centers of my LM's....

I have chosen to see this as an opportunity to do something cool. The question is, what colors would look cool on a silver car?

What about white?

Then there's good old gold, gunmetal grey, maybe mix it up with the red centrecaps.... Maybe something wild like red centers?

Painted LM's - wha color??

I'll give this some more thought... I'd like to leave this as a place holder:

Not white! Bugs me on silver.

Not very original but in my opinion a classic: WRX Gold/Bronze

Oh in that case I say metallic grey (not too dark) with red centercaps!

And if you're feeling adventurous, a deep glossy oxblood/purplish colour - classy!

Yeah Raj - oxblood. I like it. Otherwise, a medium-dark grey with red caps is a solid choice I had almost settled on.

In my image searches, I've realized that colored-centre LM's look bigger than their silver counterparts.

Wow you read my mind.

I wanted to say stay silver if the coloured centers make the wheels look smaller.

I have to say that colour is sexy.

Dave's point about them being 3 piece wheels does stick out with a colour like that though. I like the big lip/small face look on smaller cars/wheels but I don't know how much I dig it on a car like the S4.
