1997 Jetta Turbodiesel 5spd
360,000kms

The facts:
I see 40-45 MPG routinely. That’s around 850kms before the warning light comes on.
Runs great and starts effortlessly on cold mornings. Driving is great
A/C (could use a recharge)
Crank windows
New timing belt and tensioner (~6 months or 20,000kms)
New glow plugs (1 month)
New windshield (1 year)
MK4 style shift boot and knob
K2 seats. They are heated, but there is no heating circuit in the car. The Recaro SRD is NOT included.
Rare aux input stereo. I’ve added an additional input that comes out the back of the stereo that goes to the cup holder area.
Eibach lowering springs
Sidepipe exhaust using a B3 Passat VR6 tip
Rubber floor mats
Hitch and trailer wiring kit (duck hitch cover not included :P)

Bad:
It has some rust on the doors, I’ve covered most of it with POR-15.
The fuel filler area has gotten rusty, but there aren’t any holes yet.
Couple of dents on the passenger door/fender
Needs a front engine mount
Cruise does not work

Extras
Thule roof rack available
Bra available
full set of spax shocks available

Price:

$2100
With pictured 16” summer wheels and nearly new snows

$1900
With snows

$1800
With a random set of bald steelies I have laying around

With the way diesels are valued these days I would say yes.

Be prepared to get a lot of "that's too many km's to ask more than $100" type comments though.

For reference, I picked up my mk4 TDI (2000) for $2900 I think w 280km. Ran like shit, no reliable history behind it.

I've had it listed for $4900 on kijiji for the past 3 months or so and have had no serious offers.

GL with the sale. If i could ditch the mk4 I'd pick it up in a second. :)
Oh Hi Dere... welcome to my sig!

There's already two bookings to see the car in the first 1.5 hours of being listed, so I'm seeing that it's not far off. It runs really great now after the engine swap, so it has that going for it.

:(

what are you getting/doing to replace?
Upgrade your grey matter 'cause one day it may matter.

Don't be in such a hurry to condemn a person because they don't do what you do, or think as you think. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today...
